I currently save over $100 a month by not having satellite or cable television.
I don't do Netflix or Hulu which I can watch on my phone.
What do I do instead of watching TV? I watch DVDs from the library and read.
I enjoy my freedom from a lot of what I call senseless bombardment. I don't like watching trash and that is what I hear is what mostly comprises the choices on the hundreds of channels people can buy in cable or satellite packages.
When I owned a television, it used up a lot of electricity. I hear they still do.
Growing up, I went to church with a family who didn't own a television and I'm talking the 1960's. I thought they were crazy. Now, I understand. I joined that crazy group 20 years ago.
I know people who have HD antennas and they are happy as a clam not paying for cable. I'm on the fence about that since the Hallmark Channel isn't on that list. That is probably the only channel I would watch.
Until then, I will remain television free.
