I arrived at the Tucson Folk Festival to sign in at the Volunteer Tent where I volunteered my time for two hours. The woman I was paired with is Beverly! She had an exclamation point at the end of her name. We had a blast joking and laughing. The weather was nice then got very hot and that is when I took out my ice pack and put it on the back of my neck. We were very busy. We also played hospitality to the volunteers and to anyone who walked by or asked a question. At noon, a wonderful female artist, Arlene Wow! played and her voice sounded like Celine Dion! I wished I could have recorded her on video but she had to work.
After my shift was up, I went to listen to a few performers as I had an hour before my ride was due to pick me up. The third picture is of Tiffany George. She can play a mean ukulele and has a pretty good voice too. One of the videos below is of her singing.
I walked around and took pictures of some of the artisans and their wares. Pretty talented group of artisans.
I met a man who found this adorable terrier mix dog roaming the streets of Tucson four days prior. He took him home and claimed the starving dog as his. What a nice young man to do that. He named his dog Sebastian which the dog readily answers to.
An hour into my shift, the sky became dark and overcast. We had a nice cool breeze which made the weather delightful. Half an hour before it was time to go home, it started to rain a little. Not a heavy downpour - just a nice gentle rain which lasted for five minutes.
